About Cubs Scouts

Lord Baden-Powell started the Cubs section of Scouting in 1916; themed around the Jungle Book written by Baden-Powell’s friend and neighbour, Rudyard Kipling. The young people represent the cubs in the Mowgli stories and the leaders are known by the names of the major characters.

Cub Scouts are the second youngest section of the Scout Movement, for children ages 8-10.5, followed by the scouts which are 10.5-14 years old.

Currently the Cub pack meet on Wednesday night during term time. If a child misses 3 consecutive weeks without a valid reason then his/her place will be offered to someone else.
